1 Service and scope
The provider is identified in the legal notice. These terms govern free use of the RunsOnMac website, optional account features, benchmark submissions and macOS app outside Germany, the EU and the EEA. Mandatory law and an individual written agreement take priority.
RunsOnMac may provide catalogue search, Mac filters, community reports, profiles, private libraries, saved hardware details and an app. Features may change or end, especially during beta. Material changes affecting an ongoing agreement will be handled as required by applicable law.
2 Accounts and sign-in
The public catalogue normally works without an account. Google authentication and cloud synchronisation use external providers; RunsOnMac does not receive your Google password. Use only accounts you own or may manage, protect your session and sign out on shared devices.
Display names must not impersonate others, infringe rights or contain illegal, abusive or discriminatory content. You must have legal capacity to accept these terms or any consent required from a parent or guardian.
3 Benchmarks and user content
Reports must describe your own genuine use and be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not disguise estimates as measurements or hide material details about hardware, settings, translation layers, streaming, upscaling or generated frames. Unmatched games may remain in a private review queue.
You grant RunsOnMac a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free licence to store, review, format, translate, match and publish submitted text and structured report data within the service. You keep ownership of your content, subject to rights needed to maintain lawful existing publications and records.
4 Acceptable use
Do not submit false or copied reports, impersonate others, violate intellectual-property or privacy rights, upload malware, expose credentials, overload or disrupt the service, bypass validation or access controls, evade app activation, or scrape the service against technical restrictions. Security testing requires prior written permission unless applicable law expressly permits it.
You are responsible for activity and content you control. Store and publisher names belong to their owners. RunsOnMac is not affiliated with Apple, Google, Valve or a game publisher unless expressly stated.
5 Review and moderation
Reports may undergo automated completeness and plausibility checks followed by human review. RunsOnMac may label, hold, correct, rematch, reject or remove content reasonably believed to be inaccurate, manipulated, unlawful or contrary to these terms.
Measures should be proportionate to the issue. You may request review through the contact form. Any mandatory notice, appeal or regulator access under applicable law remains available.
6 App licence
When the app is available, you receive a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use it for its intended purpose on supported Macs. Do not redistribute it, remove notices, circumvent protection or reverse engineer it except where applicable law permits.
System requirements, signing status and current functions appear on the download page. Updates may be required for security, compatibility or continued service access.
7 Privacy and AI-supported tools
Personal data is processed for stated service, security and communication purposes under the privacy rules that apply. Authentication, hosting and database providers may process data on RunsOnMac's behalf. The visitor IP address may be used transiently by the region service to select a country, language and Steam price region; RunsOnMac stores only the resulting country temporarily in the browser session. Applicable access, correction, deletion, objection and complaint rights remain available.
AI-supported tools may assist research, drafting, translation, classification, plausibility checks and moderation preparation. Outputs may be wrong and are not the sole basis for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects where prohibited. Applicable transparency, copyright, privacy and human-review duties are followed.
8 Community data and external services
Community benchmarks describe one reported setup and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. RunsOnMac does not warrant that a game will start, remain available, match a store description or achieve a particular frame rate. Verify official requirements and refund terms before purchasing.
Third-party stores, identity providers, hosting services and linked websites operate under their own terms. RunsOnMac is not responsible for their independent content or conduct, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
9 Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury where applicable, product liability, express guarantees and mandatory consumer protections.
To the extent permitted by law, liability for other claims is limited to direct and reasonably foreseeable loss caused by a breach. RunsOnMac is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss where that exclusion is lawful.
10 Suspension, termination and changes
You may stop using the service and request closure of a free account at any time. RunsOnMac may proportionately restrict or end account functions for serious or repeated violations, urgent security threats or clearly unlawful use, with notice and review where required.
Changes to these terms apply prospectively. Material changes are communicated clearly and take effect only as allowed by applicable law. Rights to reject, terminate or obtain a remedy remain available where mandatory law grants them.
11 Governing law and contact
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, subject to mandatory rights and courts available under the law that applies to you. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive collective-action rights or shorten statutory limitation periods.
Provider details and contact options appear in the legal notice. If a term is invalid, applicable law replaces it and the remaining terms continue to apply.
